World Prematurity Day (17 November 2020) is a global movement to raise awareness of premature birth and the sometimes devastating impact it can have on families.
This year, we reached out to parents on social media and asked them to share their pictures and experiences of neonatal care. The response was overwhelming, with dozens of images and comments being shared by parents and families.
Most of the comments show the incredible journey our families have been on, with babies battling multiple challenges and coming out on the other side as toddlers to teens. Some are much more difficult to read, and our hearts go out to those affected by bereavement. All comment on the amazing support they recieved from our colleagues on the neonatal units across the North East.
